Ten years ago, when I was suffering from deep depression, Christian Science was brought to my husband's attention.
Before I learned of it, I had felt driven many times, in different ways, to try to take my own life. During our initial contact with Christian Science, I didn't assimilate anything of it myself, and I didn't feel God's love. The insidious, evil suggestion of suicide once more drove me to the point where I went out and bought a highly poisonous pesticide. I then took this poison, undiluted. Shortly thereafter, everything went black.
My husband, who soon returned home from work and saw what had happened, quickly informed a Christian Science practitioner, who began praying at once. Then my husband had to inform the police and have me admitted to a hospital. The doctors held out little hope for me; they told my husband that even if I ever regained consciousness, there would be permanent, serious damage.
