I was introduced to Christian Science by a new acquaintance

I was introduced to Christian Science by a new acquaintance. She told me that Mary Baker Eddy is the author of a book that explains the laws of God that underlie Christ Jesus' healings.

I had been married for two and a half years. My husband and immediate circle of friends were not interested in Christian Science. But through a diligent study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings I was able to overcome many challenges. Gradually I discovered that God's love is constant and impartial. I also had to learn that healing results come through prayer, regular study, and the deep desire to understand God and man as His child.

Soon after I had started the study of Christian Science, while I was at work one day, our child complained of stomach pains. My husband took the child to a hospital, and X-rays showed an abnormal lump near the intestine. I was called and told an operation was imminent. I turned to God in prayer. I was drawn to a statement from the Bible: "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord" (Proverbs).
