For almost seventy years I have relied completely on Christian Science, and I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the protection and help I have received. Most of all I am grateful for the spiritual understanding of God and man that I have gained through the study of this Science.

I recall a time we were visiting my husband's family in Texas. Our seven-year-old daughter was running barefoot around the backyard and stepped on a long nail that was still attached to a rotten board. Her grandmother removed the nail and then rushed to get a bandage and a bottle of antiseptic. Meanwhile I had been praying. I knew that God, who is ever present and fills all space, is always taking care of His child. I said that washing and bandaging the foot was all that was necessary.

This incident took place during wartime, and a Christian Science Wartime Minister lived in the next block. I went there and asked him to give our daughter Christian Science treatment through prayer. When I removed the bandage the next morning, there was not a mark on her foot. Her grandmother looked at one foot and then the other and was amazed that she could not tell which foot had been injured.
