Armor and character

Think of character and you think of something solid, stable. In the middle of personal battles, though, we may feel anything but solid or stable. That's the time to look deeper.
It was during the year 1954, when I was making a business call, that a woman offered to lend me a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
At the age of nine I was brought to the eastern part of the United States from the Navaho Indian Reservation in Arizona to be raised by a family who studied and practiced Christian Science.
It wasn't until I was in my late twenties that I heard of Christian Science, which was introduced to me by a relative who had been helped by Science at a time of great need.
One day a breathing difficulty developed and I became afraid.
My first healing was that of an aching jaw.
