Christian Science came into my life when I was about eleven years old. A family friend introduced my mother to this Science at a time of great need in her life, as she had been left with three young children to support during the depths of the Depression.

I will never forget the first time we attended a Christian Science church service. I didn't fully understand the spiritual import of what was being read, and yet I felt that I had "come home." My brothers and I were enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School, and it was as if a light had been turned on for me as the teacher discussed truths from the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

One healing that stands out to me occurred early in my married life. I woke one morning with a severe headache. Throughout that day I hoped it would just go away; but when I woke the second morning and discovered that the headache was a lot worse, I realized that it was time for me to pray. I studied and prayed that day, but by the third morning my head was throbbing and felt as if it were surrounded by a tight metal band.
