Pledge

Hugh Pendexter III

I shall love one God alone:
Adore no gods of earth,
Nor chatter idly near His throne,
Ignore His Sabbath's worth.

I'll honor parents of the flesh,
My Parent from above,
And, grateful, sow and reap and thresh,
Fulfilling law in love.

I'll love as neighbors all mankind:
Respond in time of need;
And guard my purity of mind
From envy, strife, and greed.

I'll live my gratitude and awe
For world and brother man;
And love the guidance of God's law:
Rejoice to fit His plan.
