Inquiring about Christian Science?
Some straight talk about what Christian Science isn't—and is— for the honest inquirer.
Misconceptions about Christian Science tend to hinder inquiry and often prevent acceptance of accurate information. It may therefore be helpful to list a few of the things Christian Science is not, before explaining just a little of what it is.
• It is not a system of "not going to doctors," of dangerously ignoring sickness and blindly hoping it will go away.
• It is not an invented dogma that adherents are compelled to follow unthinkingly; nor is it importuning a far-off God with ritualistic prayers in the forlorn hope of a positive response.
