Sentry duty
Prayer has your password.
It lets Truth in,
keeps error out.
But passwords must be changed sometimes,
and so must prayer.
Prayer isn't a stale sort of thing,
like a day-old sandwich,
but is inspired and fresh,
known always to God
and to you, His child.
Spies can try to trick us—
sadness may sigh to climb over the wall;
angry and "it's not fair" thoughts
might want to storm the gates;
boredom will tell us to forget to watch.
So, Keep Those Spies Out
with prayer,
by talking to and listening to
your Father-Mother, God.
What's your password?
Shh!
Don't tell me—tell God.
With prayer.
