I would like to share some beautiful healings our children had while they were growing up. When our older daughter was still a preschooler, she was running through the house and slipped on a scatter rug. Her front teeth hit the edge of the windowsill; one tooth was pushed forward, the other backward. Her gums were bleeding and she was crying very hard.

After comforting her, I gained spiritual insight from reading the Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly. This sentence from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy stood out to me (p. 289): "The spiritual fact and the material belief of things are contradictions; but the spiritual is true, and therefore the material must be untrue." I felt assured that the child's real being was spiritual and not subject to accident.

In about a week's time it became noticeable that the teeth were straightening. Through the realization that God's child is rooted and grounded in divine Love, a complete healing was effected. Her teeth straightened and also whitened where they had been discolored. This was a beautiful example of God's healing power, a proof of the superiority of spiritual means over material conditions.
