I found Christian Science through a fellow teacher at a school where I taught. I had worked with her for six years, then taught in another school for two years, and finally transferred back. This teacher seemed so much happier that I said to her, "What has come over you while I was gone? You are not the same person." She replied that she had been studying Christian Science. I said, "I want to study it, too, because if it has done so much for you, maybe it can do something for me."

That very day we went to a Christian Science Reading Room, and I checked out the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I went back within a week and bought a copy. By just reading Science and Health I was healed of an apparently malignant condition that I had suffered from for quite a while and was able to discard glasses that I had worn for twenty-five years. At the same time I was healed of nervous headaches, which had come upon me at least once every two weeks. I have not had a headache in all the years since.

After I began to study Christian Science the discipline in my classroom at school greatly improved, and I found many opportunities to apply my growing understanding of Science every day, in and out of school.
