The healing power of God, as revealed in the Bible and explained in Christian Science, has been proved in my life for many years now. I'm grateful for all the evidences that have assured me of God's dependable and ever-available love and care.

When I was in the United States Coast Guard a number of years ago, I received a beautiful illustration of God's power to heal. In the course of one of the regularly scheduled physical examinations required by the military, I was advised that I had a benign tumor on the inside of my lip. The doctor in attendance told me that I should schedule an appointment to have the tumor removed.

I did schedule an appointment right away. It was, however, an appointment with a Christian Science practitioner. He was able to see me the very next day. When we met in his office, he asked me to really think through a sentence in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The sentence reads (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
