A child's view of God

The clarity and innocence of the child thought can continually renew our outlook as we learn more about our relationship to God.

"Don't be afraid. God will give care of you."

My three-year-old daughter said these words so spontaneously when I mentioned something I was concerned about. Her conviction was sure, innocent of any misguided optimism, and comforting.

How do we find that sureness borne on the wings of innocence—the acceptance of safety in God's care? Are those just child words? Can we as adults learn to trust like that?
