Ever dawn

You can't keep out the light: it streams around
The edges of your night
To melt away the pain, the lack, the fear,
And glimmer by glimmer
Assures you that good alone is here.

You can't keep out the day: the dawn awaits,
Unfailing, radiant,
To wash away the full of shadows left
By mortal dreams and bathe
You in the soothing beams of Love divine.

You can't keep out the light: the Truth undimmed,
Unconquerable in might,
Around you flows dissolving all, in rays
Of grace, your suffering sense;
At last you feel the glow of God's embrace!
