Wake-up prayer
Father, this day awaits, aglow
with right activity You will show;
no futile moments reminiscing
what mortality claims I'm missing.
No outgrown memories subtly taunt
nor fears of future shadows haunt;
no aching, nagging longings here
for distant shore or former year.
Your now, Your promise, full, complete
advancement brings, but no retreat;
through lens of truth I clearly see
Your infinite ability
to guide me as I humbly pray
to glorify Your name today.
