I would like to express publicly my gratitude for the divine Science Christ Jesus proved—the Science that Mary Baker Eddy discovered. The study and practice of Christian Science have led me to happy and satisfying work.

In 1974 I was employed as a child-care worker. I loved the work itself, but my hours were incompatible with those of my husband. Also, regular attendance at branch church services and meetings was impossible. One Sunday after church I decided I should find another job. I looked at my motives and felt strongly that they were right. With that as my basis I began to pray about the situation. Any sense of fear was overcome through knowing that God lovingly governs all.

I retained my job but began to search for another. For about four months I met with little success in being accepted for a new job. Then one evening as I prayed, I saw that, in my true nature as man, the spiritual idea created and governed by God, I included my right work of glorifying God within my true selfhood. Nothing could keep me from productive employment; I already had it within me. And because right employment is not truly dependent on outside conditions but comes from within, it had to be expressed.
