The "good news" of healing

We may sometimes forget just how inspiring and even indispensable accounts of healing can be to those who are just learning of Christian Science. Sharing your gratitude for healing by contributing a testimony to the Christian Science periodicals can be one way of reaching out to welcome and help newcomers.

A testimony can be a beacon light to someone who feels awash in troubles. It may be the very message of hope young parents need when they're afraid for their children's safety. It can be a lifeline for a reader who has been struggling with a longstanding illness. To a newcomer who wonders, "Could what Christian Science promises possibly be true?" a testimony gives the comforting invitation "Yes; come and see."

If you have not sent the periodicals a written testimony in the past year, we invite you to consider submitting one. Preparations for writing might include study of the By-Law "Testimonials" in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy (Art. VIII, Sect. 24). Also you might study the chapter "Fruitage" in Science and Health (pp. 600-700). Additional guidelines can be found on page 627 of the October 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal or on page 31 in the February 16, 1987, Christian Science Sentinel.
