On October 7, 1933, I had a testimony published in the Sentinel, telling of my two-year-old son's healing after drinking gasoline. This healing has been permanent. There have been many healings in my family since then, and I feel it is time to speak up with gratitude once more.
One morning about eight years ago, I woke up with a severe pain in my wrist. By the end of the day the condition had worsened and spread throughout my body. I turned to God for help, praying, and studying the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I wanted to understand more fully these words from Science and Health (p. 207): "There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause." The condition persisted, but every day and night I read and pondered wonderful truths from Science and Health and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, and I continued to pray. I also realized I needed to put forth the effort to live the truth I was affirming in prayer—that in my true selfhood as God's perfect child I am upright and free.
Several months later, through my own study and with the prayerful help at different times of Christian Science practitioners as well as the support of my children who are class-taught students of Christian Science, I was completely healed. It is wonderful to bear witness to the freedom that God has given all of His children.
