Step out
I was so afraid for her
that I could hardly think,
but God kept whispering
"Step out, step out!"
(And I knew that He spoke of Peter
in chains in the prison.
For, when the angel
had loosed the chains,
Peter had only one job:
to step out and follow
that angel, who led him forth
and closed the eyes of the guards
and opened the gates of the prison.
But could I trust God enough
to step out, as Peter had done?
Then I remembered,
God didn't ask Peter to do it alone,
His angel was with him.
And then I knew, His angel was with us, too.)
And, together, we did step out.
