Since my introduction to Christian Science about fifteen years...
Since my introduction to Christian Science about fifteen years ago, I have had many proofs of God's love and protecting power. The very first healing I had through listening for and following God's direction took place several years ago. I had made some chicken soup and hadn't quite got all of the bones out of it. One lodged in my throat and wouldn't budge, even after I drank a glass of water.
Trying not to panic, I began to pray and to listen. Soon the thought came, "Sing." At first I felt that this was foolish, although my intention before all this happened had been to practice some songs I had been working on. But the command came again, "Sing," and so I began doing some vocalizing. In a few moments the bone was dislodged and went downward, although it was still in my throat.
I was moved with gratitude to pick up my copy of the Christian Science Hymnal, turn to No. 182, and sing. Then my eyes went across the page and I sang the first verse of No. 181:
