A taste of heaven
"And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge ..."
This was the fire that in me burned.
Not felt through the human touch or word.
Lasting but a moment ...
A spark, a blaze—recognition!
And then, only a glimmer
Too soon doused by the cold return to materiality.
But it was enough.
My heart had soared on the height of the flame,
Ablaze with the radiancy of Life.
I knew then I would seek that light again and again
Till no longer a mere taster of heaven,
But "... filled with all the fulness of God." Eph. 3:19.
