It is with gratitude that I share this testimony, in the hope that it may encourage and help others.

A few years ago, one day a normal bodily function ceased and I was unable to urinate. There was pain and also fever. I prayed as best I could, but the discomfort increased to such an extent that I felt I had to have prayerful support.

I called a Christian Science practitioner in another state, who is also a dear friend. I talked with him many times during the days and nights that followed, and I was always comforted and inspired by his clear, absolute conviction of God's—divine Love's—unfailing, sustaining presence. My awareness of this precious closeness with God enabled me to remain calm.
