Take heart!
However alone you are,
alone in a room with a telly,
alone as you walk in the park,
taking yourself to the movies,
cooking yourself an egg,
feeling the chill of not being needed,
with loved ones gone
or not yet found ....
Take heart.
For God is there:
wherever you are is God.
Hard to believe it sometimes?
Still, it is true.
The allness of God is not just a dream
for a distant day,
for a far-off tomorrow.
Believe this, please,
believe it with all your heart.
For if you look out from this place
that isn't lonely at all
but is overflowing with God's great love for man,
something is bound to change,
something is bound to happen:
an opening of doors,
an outstretched hand,
something.
Where loneliness was
life will be full to the brim.
