How can I find my identity?
"Stop looking where it isn't and look where it is!"
I was rummaging repeatedly in my one overflowing kitchen utensil drawer for the potato peeler when the above words came to me so precisely that it was as though they had been spoken. I laughed aloud at the idea, but I also looked up —and there on the opposite countertop was the potato peeler.
What about finding who we are? How often we try to find our own identity or that of someone else by looking where it isn't instead of where it is. True spiritual identity (and that's the only real kind) can't be found in personality or in physical sense. So we have to stop looking there for it and look to Soul and spiritual sense for the right concept of ourselves and others.
