Writing for the periodicals
"The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary." Isa. 50:4. These timeless words of Isaiah apply today to the healing mission of the Christian Science periodicals and to those who write articles and testimonies for them.
In addressing those of her students who wrote to her, Mrs. Eddy said she would be inclined to forward their letters for publication in The Christian Science Journal. She stated: "Methinks, were they to contemplate the universal charge wherewith divine Love has entrusted us, in behalf of a suffering race, they would contribute oftener to the pages of this swift vehicle of scientific thought; for it reaches a vast number of earnest readers, and seekers after Truth." Miscellaneous Writings, pp. 155-156.
When first reading the above words of our Leader, I had the desire to contribute either a testimony or an article for publication.
