Is leaving necessarily the answer?
It seems so easy. If things are not going exactly right in the job, marriage, church, or church committee, we can just leave!
At first glance, leaving appears to have all pluses. Walking away from the job, church, marriage, would seem to allow us to leave major problems behind and move to some heavenlike place where people are understanding, loving, and all interpersonal relations are harmonious.
If happiness is to be found in a specific location on earth, let's all move there and live happily ever after. But note that the Master, Christ Jesus, did not advise people to seek harmony in a particular locality. True happiness is not found in any place. Nor is happiness simply a new spouse, family, church, or church committee. Joy is spiritual, God-derived, divine. It comes as the Golden Rule is practiced and the First Commandment obeyed.
