I am very grateful for a healing I had two summers ago of a broken wrist. Two and a half weeks before my husband and I were to leave on a month-long trip to Europe, I fell while playing tennis. As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I turned immediately to our Father-Mother God and silently and audibly affirmed that as His child I was all right. I knew that in my true being I was the reflection of Spirit, and therefore my harmony could not be invaded. When I got home I called a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer, which was lovingly given.
At that time I was serving my branch Church of Christ, Scientist, as chairman of the lecture committee—a position I loved, and our church was getting ready for a Christian Science lecture. The day after the fall on the tennis court, I conducted the church's lecture preparation meeting, drinking in all the lovely healing truths that were shared by the members present. When the lecture was given, in addition to its inspiring message with wonderful illustrations of God's healing power, the love and humility expressed by the lecturer impressed me greatly.
The lecture was given on Monday. The following Wednesday, at the weekly testimony meeting in our branch church, the Reader's citations were on the coincidence of the divine and the human. During one of the testimonies the testifier quoted from Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy (p. 100): "The spiritual monitor understood is coincidence of the divine with the human, the acme of Christian Science." When I returned home from church that evening I sat down on the couch, looked up that citation and then thought about it. As I was sitting there, I felt two adjustments take place in my wrist, as though bones were being moved back into place. Immediately my wrist felt free and limber. That was a precious moment.
