Deny delay
Delays and disruptions may confront us at various times. When we are traveling, for example, bad timing may lead to delay and missed connections.
The teachings of Christian Science provide a sound basis for dealing with whatever is out of order. The first step is to challenge the reality of the difficulty from the basis that God, Principle, does not create disorder or inharmony of any kind, because He is infinite good. As Mrs. Eddy explains in Science and Health: "Discord is the nothingness named error. Harmony is the somethingness named Truth." Science and Health, p. 276. On this basis we can put out of our thinking the discord that seems so real and with spiritual sense begin to discern the truth that God's law has unlimited power. Then the apparent discord yields to our uplifted thought, and harmony appears.
Harmony is a basic law of God's universe and sheds its influence over all creation. Without harmony, creation would be erratic and lawless. Order is intrinsic to God's character and fundamental to everything He creates. As we understand this and apply it, we claim our real status as the beloved ideas of God, under His constant care. Then discord melts into more rapid progress. Science and Health tells us, "Truth is affirmative, and confers harmony." Ibid., p. 418. The truths of Christian Science, when acknowledged and trusted, have an immediate healing effect on troubled, chaotic conditions, as the following experience points out.
