Since I came into Christian Science twenty-four years ago, I have had many wonderful healings. Some have come about simply through reading the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. These healings include asthma, a severe skin rash, and a nervous disorder. Also, many wrong traits of character have dropped away. I've seen clearly the simple logic of this most natural healing ministry, brought to us today through the textbook. And I have grown to love the Bible and Science and Health more and more each day. Study of the Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly is part of my morning meal, which sustains me throughout the day.

Before coming into Christian Science, I did not know what it was like to be well for long periods. When my husband went to work in the morning, he could not tell whether I would be greeting him at the door in the evening or lying on the couch. But gradually, sometimes with the help of a Christian Science practitioner and sometimes entirely through my own prayer, the "old man" has been put off and the "new man" is being put on.

I would like to share a healing that occurred about twenty-three years ago. From my teen years on, I suffered every year from a severe attack of bronchitis. It kept me bedridden for three to four weeks, then convalescent for another few weeks. I also wore a special thermal wool chest jacket throughout the winter months. At a point when I'd been attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, for about six months, I had the usual attack of bronchitis. Still very new in Science, I fought and prayed all night the best way I knew how. But the next morning I wasn't any better. Although I had not had the help of a Christian Science practitioner before, I very much desired to call one right then. However, I deferred to my worried husband and son and called a doctor.
