As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I have had numerous proofs of God's gentle, loving care. Regardless of what the challenge has been, Christian Science has never failed me.

While living on a United States government base as a child, I was exposed to nuclear radioactive materials. Eventually an ugly skin disease developed. I sought to heal this affliction through prayer and the study of Christian Science. Above all, I endeavored to understand more fully that because God is the only cause and creator, man, His image and likeness, can only express perfection. The belief called nuclear power, I reasoned, could not be greater than the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God. Therefore, in my true spiritual being I was as free and perfect as God had created me.

As a result of this prayer and study, the sores closed up and new skin appeared where deep scars had been. The healing was not only complete, but in some measure I had proved, through Christian Science, that the belief called nuclear radioactivity cannot affect man's true being. I am convinced that material conditions, including nuclear radioactivity, will lose their seeming power as we identify ourselves with the Supreme Ruler and demonstrate our God-given superiority over mortal misconceptions.
