Disease: no occurrence, no recurrence

Health, as a divine quality, is permanently perfect. Our recognition of this fact can serve to preserve our well-being in daily life or to restore it if we have failed to recognize this fact.

Christian Science, God's revelation of His law and its practice, enables us to prove that the quality of our health is as spiritual and unvarying as our demonstration of goodness. Therefore, those who suffer from recurring illness need not consider themselves helpless. No human condition can ever exceed God's power to heal. By drawing into accord with spiritual good, we draw into accord with the divine ever-presence of harmony that leaves neither place nor time for evil, matter, sin, suffering. Christian Science agrees with the Bible: "The Lord is good .... What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time."^{Nah. 1:7, 9.}

"But," you may protest, "my affliction has risen up—not only a second time but many times!"
