Heal allergies, don't live with them!

A national news magazine ran a cover story a few months ago, explicitly portraying the effects of allergies on the lives of vast numbers of people. Christian Science, however, offers the hope to sufferers that complete healing is possible. And the solution is available now; it is based on divine Truth and comes through prayer—the scientific understanding of man's true identity as the image and likeness of God, the spiritual idea of Mind, the perfect expression of divine Soul.

Human belief contends that an allergy is an abnormal reaction the body has to some foreign substance, perhaps in the air one breathes, the liquid he drinks, the food he eats, or whatever comes in contact with the skin. The list of supposed villains is virtually endless.

Christian Science teaches that it is not matter that produces an allergic reaction or any sickness. Rather it is human belief outlined on the physical body. If one fears his environment, for example, he is liable to suffer the consequences. If one is entertaining sinful thoughts of resentment, hatred, envy, and so on, he is liable to find his body reacting adversely to the poisonous influence of sin. If one is ignorant of his true status as pure, spiritual idea and believes existence to be formed in and of matter, he is liable to find his life apparently subject to the material elements surrounding him. But in each case it is the state of one's thinking that determines his experience.
