Healing harmful aftereffects

One of the joys of Christian Science is that it completely heals the lingering aftereffects that sometimes follow difficult experiences such as accidents.

In seeking healing, we need to reach to the very heart of the matter by understanding true cause and effect. The student of Christian Science learns that God, the Principle that is Love, is the one and only creator of the universe including man—in other words, the only cause of existence. The Discoverer of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy, states in her Miscellaneous Writings, "The first and only cause is the eternal Mind, which is God, and there is but one God." Mis., p. 36. The bedrock of our lives is a cause that does not share its power with anything or anyone else, for divine Spirit is omnipotent—in truth, All.

What about the effect of this one cause, "the eternal Mind"? Further on in Miscellaneous Writings we read, "If the great cause is perfect, its effect is perfect also; and cause and effect in Science are immutable and immortal." Ibid., p. 79. This statement should put to rest the fears that the carnal mind would instill in human consciousness. Divine cause and effect are one, and this unity, when understood and lived, prevents or heals destructive effects by any supposed power. Thus we demonstrate our true selfhood, which dwells in harmonious unity with divine Love as the reflection of the one Father-Mother, the only creator. Divine Mind expresses itself through immortal man, its perfect, spiritual manifestation, or effect, and this truth can be proved.
