Thinking of today's high unemployment rate, I am reminded...
Thinking of today's high unemployment rate, I am reminded of a particular time when I turned to God for help. The result was convincing proof that the one Mind is ever operative.
At the end of the Second World War, I started a small electronics manufacturing firm. I was inexperienced in business and by 1948 had run out of money and was unable to raise more capital. It was necessary that I find a job which paid a regular salary; it also appeared that we would lose our investment in the business.
There seemed to be no electronics jobs available in San Diego. I wrote letters to various employers but was getting no results. As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I was praying for guidance, and I asked a practitioner to pray for me. But the human picture was very discouraging.
