The Holy Bible—oasis for a thirsty world
So many people today are yearning to have their thirst quenched. It may be a thirst for liberty or equal rights, for peace, for love, or even for the basic necessities of human life. And when one views all the sorrowful events, the confusion, the threats to mankind's very existence, our world may sometimes seem like a virtual desert. The barren landscape of people's desolation and fear cries out for an oasis where the waters can truly satisfy one's needs and bring healing.
The inspired message of God's saving power presented in the Holy Scriptures provides just such an oasis. Here one can find sanctuary, comfort, regeneration.
The laws of God and their practical application for good in people's lives are revealed in the Bible in many ways. The Old Testament gives us the account of creation in the first chapter of Genesis, revealing the transcendent goodness of God's universe and the dominion bestowed on man, God's pure likeness. In Exodus we find the Ten Commandments with their timeless moral and spiritual guidance.
