Gratitude

NORMAN ASWALD WALTER

Never seeking
tears of pity,
Jesus lifted others' thought
to see beyond
his sacrifice
to follow what he taught.

Gratitude
for the Christ—
never pensive, sad—
fills thought
with firm resolve
to follow and be glad.
