Watching our mental symptoms
Do Christian Scientists ignore the mental and physical symptoms of sin and disease? Absolutely not! They remain alert to detect the mental symptoms of false belief and erring thinking. They don't ignore abnormal bodily symptoms either, but effectively eradicate them through the healing consciousness of the harmony and perfection of God's spiritual creation.
Contrary to the universal belief that health is a physical condition, precariously dependent on physiological laws, Christian Science insists that health is a divinely mental state. Health is an aspect of the spiritual quality of wholeness, or holiness.
Suppose the physical body is malfunctioning. Do we ignore the obvious? Or say it's "just in our minds"? No. We actively refute the evidence of inharmony as an imposition of the carnal, or so-called mortal mind. Disease is an aggressive mental, not physical, suggestion.
