Our Children: safe on their own
How can parents rest easy about their children who are away from home? Must the love we have for our children make us vulnerable to anxiety or worry when we are separated from them? We can't always be with our children; but though they seem to be on their own, we can know they are not alone. God is always with them.
I remember a time in my early teens when I was visiting a friend several miles from home. My friend and I were riding our bikes. Suddenly my bicycle steering jammed, and I swerved into oncoming traffic. A dump truck was heading straight at me. I closed my eyes and felt a blast of wind. The truck and I missed each other.
Over the years, I have come to see that during this incident a higher law, the law of God, was governing to protect me. The result was that the so-called physical laws regarding material objects in space did not make me their victim.
