Finding God through prayer
Where is God? The question loses any sense of mystery when the presence of divine Love is felt in one's heart. Then the answer rings clear and true— God is right here, now, ever present. Prayer finds God; prayer reveals His presence right where we may feel He is absent.
For so long, much of mankind has feared God or misjudged Him. And today there lingers a vague feeling among many that God exists (if He exists) "up there" somewhere, while man is confined "down here." This misconception fosters an apprehension of a kind of anthropomorphic deity who oversees and judges us from afar, sending blessing or cursing, mercy or wrath.
But God is neither a humanized entity nor a remote, nebulous being. God, divine Life, is the source and sustainer of all creation. Nothing exists without the control, maintenance, and loving care of divine Mind. As the gospel declares of the divine Word, "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:3.
