I am so grateful for the opportunities I've had to express my awareness of God. The many healings I've received are proof to me that God is, indeed, omnipotent and omnipresent.

Such an opportunity arose one night when I inadvertently rubbed one of my eyes after contact with a strong irritant. Within a few seconds I was extremely uncomfortable and unable to see. I tried to remain calm, in order to think clearly about the situation, but the pain was so severe that I felt the prayerful support of a Christian Science practitioner was needed. After I quickly explained the circumstances, the practitioner replied that I need not let mortal law govern me.

I realized that I didn't have to accept the so-called law that claims substance is both benign and harmful. Such a law is really only belief and, I knew, didn't apply to me (or any individual) as God's spiritual idea. I affirmed my right to be completely free of pain and irritation. Instantly, my eye popped open, without a bit of pain. Barely a minute had passed since I'd spoken with the practitioner. I returned to the phone and called her so we could both rejoice in the immediacy and power of God's Word.
