Through studying the wonderful book Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy I have gained better health and have been healed of various character faults.

For many years I suffered greatly from what I considered my stepfather's unjust behavior toward me. One day there was extreme pain in my arm. I had difficulty moving about and could not work in our business. The doctor I consulted diagnosed the illness as a form of arthritis. He gave me injections, which proved ineffective; certified that I was ill; and said that he could only alleviate, not cure, the disease.

Just at that time my cousin, who is a Christian Scientist, was visiting us. She invited me to attend with her the Wednesday testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Upon entering the church I was moved by the many joyous, beaming faces I saw. The readings from the Bible and Science and Health made a vivid impression; and the testimonies, which touched on problems I had been having, stirred me deeply.
