Andy wakes up
When Andy was in first grade, he had a healing that helped him see the power of God's love.
Andy went to public school during the week and to the Christian Science Sunday School each Sunday. Every morning he and his mom read a section of the Bible Lesson In the Christian Science Quarterly. and talked over the truths of God and man that Andy had learned in Sunday School. Most of all, Andy liked singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal, especially No. 412, which begins: "O dreamer, leave thy dreams for joyful waking."
On the third-to-last day of school all the lower grades sat on the grassy sidelines to watch a baseball game between the teachers and the sixth-grade all-stars. The teachers thought Andy and his class were too close to the playing field and asked them to move back. Just as Andy stood up to move, the school principal came up to bat. He swung and smacked the ball with all his strength—a home run for sure! But not quite. The ball bounced off the asphalt playground and hit Andy in the eye.
