As a military jet pilot, I have proved the dominion and freedom...
As a military jet pilot, I have proved the dominion and freedom that God's omnipotent, omnipresent, loving care provides. A recent challenge clearly showed me the protection that results from understanding and affirming man's inseparability from His love.
I was returning to home base after completing an assigned mission. The flight entailed a nonstop coast-to-coast route over the United States, and I was the designated aircraft commander, with a copilot and two passengers.
I have found it most helpful to take a few moments before each flight to reaffirm my true identity as the perfect expression of God. I know God is in complete control of all thought and action, and that discord—bad weather, malfunction, or whatever—has no actual existence in God's allness. This reaffirmation serves to align my thought with the spiritual facts of reality—with what is really going on. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 213): "Of a man it has been said, 'As he thinketh in his heart, so is he;' hence as a man spiritually understandeth, so is he in truth."
