Sight

PHYLLIS STODDARD

When trouble comes,
highsighted eye
I'm glad to have
for learning why
I shouldn't when I did
and didn't when I should.

All well and good.
But
better far, insighted eye
for signs along the way.
I would a Balaam angel if
I be prone to stray.
