Now that I have begun to study music, I'm finding Christian Science...

Now that I have begun to study music, I'm finding Christian Science the most valuable of all treasures. It has always helped me maintain happy relationships, good grades in school, and has been my only physician. But recently, while I was participating in a woodwind quintet, quite a challenge came up that forced me to trust God to adjust even the smallest details of my life.

The performance music that had been chosen was difficult and required a high level of proficiency. That, combined with my complete inexperience in playing as part of a small group, made me doubt my own ability. So, in spite of much individual practice and rehearsal after rehearsal, our group made little progress toward a quality performance.

One evening, while struggling with a heavy sense of discouragement and failure, I was reminded of this line from Hymn No. 82 in the Christian Science Hymnal: "God is working His purpose out." Confident that God was caring for our group's needs, I peacefully went to sleep.
