Rewarding employment always at hand
Are you seeking a better job, yearning to use your full potential in your daily work?
A Christian Scientist faced this problem. He had a job but had been praying for some time to gain a more challenging and rewarding sense of work. Then one day he was unexpectedly offered a position as an industrial equipment salesman with another company. Since he'd had no sales experience and didn't feel mechanically inclined, he wondered whether he should take the job. Having prayed for a new opportunity, however, he knew it was wrong to outline the answer to his prayers.
He recalled Christ Jesus' counsel, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33; This promise could be trusted, he knew, if he fulfilled its terms. To him this meant he should begin his prayers by putting God first, preparing himself for whatever opportunities came. Then his human needs, whatever they were, would be supplied.
