During the past fifteen years, prayer in Christian Science that acknowledges the omnipotent law of God, good, has lifted my three children and me over many rough spots. This prayer has included efforts to express more of the Christly qualities of love, joy, thoughtfulness, patience, and cooperation.

When things seemed especially bleak, we had the help of a Christian Science practitioner. I will be unceasingly grateful for this unselfish aid. Learning to have a greater love for God and man, more trust and less fear, and an enlarged expectancy of good freed us from holding on to things that were of no use to us. As we accepted a better life, enriched by spiritual understanding, there was no sorrow or regret, and we were able to bless others along the way. Indeed, "[God's] grace is sufficient for thee" (II Cor. 12:9).

As we've looked to God rather than a paycheck for our source of supply, relying on His sustaining power, the divine abundance has been evident to us in many unexpected and wonderful ways. Jobs have been found, housing obtained, and adequate income realized. By deepening our trust in immortal Mind as the Giver of all good, we've grown to appreciate the inexhaustible supply of practical spiritual ideas that is always present because God is ever present.
