Watching thought, not matter

"Everything is as real as you make it, and no more so. What you see, hear, feel, is a mode of consciousness, and can have no other reality than the sense you entertain of it." Unity of Good, p. 8; So writes Mary Baker Eddy. She advises us, not surprisingly: "Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 392;

In the Science of mental healing, these are central themes. The way we think has so very much to do with what we experience, with our health, and with our overall well-being.

How can we improve our sense of things? How best defend our mental integrity? How can we most conscientiously supervise our thought? By working from a spiritually scientific base. We can realize through the Science of Mind that all actual thought belongs to infinite Love. It is not an invadable personal possession. Love, by its allness, cares for the only realm of consciousness there really is, the realm of endless divine knowing. Wrong, materialistic, mesmerized, finite thinking belongs to mortal mind. But, metaphysically speaking, this mind is a supposition, a dream state. Seeing this point, living in accord with it, is (in theological language) to dethrone the devil.
