Quicksilver

The hand that seizes love
with fist of human will
finds it as mercury escaping
through the fingers grasping/clutching/empty

But Christ-inspired hands once free of matter's hold
soon learn the priceless secret of retaining love:
They nest it gently/lightly/unimprisoned yet secure
within the open cup of praying hands
