For about three months my body was painfully paralyzed, and I could do nothing for myself. There was considerable weight loss, and the condition appeared to worsen. At one point death seemed imminent.

Throughout this time I felt closer to God than ever, and I saw clearly that He is truly my Life. I realized that in reality man doesn't live in matter but has his source in divine Mind. This passage gave me comfort and strength (Acts 17:28): "In him [God] we live, and move, and have our being."

On numerous occasions well-meaning relatives tried to persuade my husband to seek medical aid and nursing home care for me. We both thanked them for their concern but let them know I would continue to trust God for my healing by relying entirely on Christian Science, confident healing would come. I had the continued prayer of a practitioner.
