Man: filled with purpose and direction

Man is complete. He is endowed with all that is meaningful to life. His identity includes purpose, direction, intelligence. Man—the compound idea of God—is not in need of cultivation. Immortal man is not an idea that is moving toward perfection. He is forever the complete expression of God's nature.

Just as the substance, power, and activity of a ray of light are engendered by the sun, so the substance, power, and activity of man are engendered by the creative energy of Spirit. Divine Spirit is All. It has no opposition, no resistance; it faces no inertia. Nor does man, the likeness of Spirit.

The claim of aimlessness, of purposelessness, is healed through the recognition of man's genuine identity. We need to recognize that man, and life itself, are wholly spiritual. Only in this way can we feel the motivation and direction of Spirit, of God. Man, looked at through the lens of mortality, is without hope. He must be viewed through the lens of Spirit. Then his purpose and perfection are clearly seen. Man is directed and employed by his creative Principle.
